The layout is designed to meet the needs of a high-traffic airport environment. The space allows for quick and efficient service, with dedicated areas for packaging gift items — products conceived to be easily purchased and carried along the journey. Project for a pastry shop located in the city center, conceived as a dynamic and welcoming space. Articulated aesthetic elements and decorative details inspired by cake doilies and the world of pastry-making, reinterpreted in a contemporary way as light textures and graphic patterns. The graphic motif rises from a two-dimensional surface and takes shape as the coffee counter upstand, enriched with bronze-colored inlays that enhance its materiality and visual presence. Beyond defining the project’s identity, this element conceals the coffee preparation area and integrates seamlessly with the counter, combining function and formal continuity.
Conceived for the high-traffic conditions typical of a city-center pastry shop, the system ensures speed of service, clear circulation flows, and immediate access to products, supporting a dynamic and efficient experience consistent with the grab-and-go concept. A design approach focused on integrating the counter within a broader and cohesive interior system, where each element contributes to building a unified and recognizable identity. The counter, finished in metallic pink, becomes the focal point of the space and reinterprets the traditional cake doily pattern—an iconic element of pastry-making—transforming it into a contemporary graphic feature.

The arrangement of elements optimizes operational paths and minimizes interference between staff and customers.

Its aesthetic is an ode to timeless elegance: a wide, curved structure presented in a sophisticated dusty blue hue, enriched by geometric moldings. Crowning this scenic vision, a luxurious black marble top creates a bold and captivating contrast, transforming every mignon, slice of cake, and baked good into a precious jewel. Moving further in, the large curve of the counter opens up spectacularly through wide glass surfaces, specifically designed to offer seated guests a privileged view of the extensive selection of breakfast and lunch items. This naturally defines a welcoming and distinct area for those who wish to pause and linger. To complete the picture, there is the back counter dedicated to the coffee station: strategically positioned, it ensures that even the act of preparing coffee becomes a true, visible ritual. This way, those comfortably seated at the tables can watch the fascinating gestures of the baristas, transforming a simple coffee break into a fully engaging, all-around sensory experience.
The project optimizes a space of just 645 sqf/60 sqm, ensuring maximum operational efficiency and a welcoming atmosphere within a compact footprint. The layout has been designed to guarantee a smooth and dynamic workflow: movement areas are precisely calibrated to facilitate staff during the various phases of the day, practically managing both the fast pace of breakfast and the more relaxed afternoon service. At the same time, the arrangement of the furnishings is designed to ensure maximum comfort for the customers.
